How did the Love Journal begin?
Our youngest child was in the hospital for 5 weeks and all the stress associated with that was taking its toll. We wanted a way to remember the good times and track the impact of these stressful times on our relationship. Did we have enough goodwill in our emotional reserves to keep us strong? As a psychotherapist, I learned from John and Julie Gottman that it takes five good interactions between partners to offset a bad one. Finally something that can be measured! So I set out to make an app that was just for our relationship: to celebrate it and gain insight along the way.
Matt and I have been using the Love Journal since 2015 and it has helped us make better moments together as a couple. We hope you enjoy the Love Journal as much as we do!
